'Tinker' breaks record for StudioCanal U.K.

LONDON -- "Mess Tailor Soldier Spy" is nearly the finest grossing release ever for your U.K. arm of StudioCanal, which recently changed its title from Optimum Delivering. The film makes 6.92 million ($10.8 million) in 10 days, beating their previous record with "Unknown," which needed $10.2 million taken. By coincidence, "Mess Tailor Soldier Spy" is founded on a novel by John le Carre, because the script for "Unknown" was co-put together by his boy Stephen Cornwell. "Mess Tailor Soldier Spy," directed by Tomas Alfredson and starring Gary Oldman, Colin Firth and Tom Sturdy, was produced by Working Title and fully funded by StudioCanal. El born area office remains powered by evenly reviews which are positive and strong word-of-mouth. After posting StudioCanal's best-ever U.K. opening weekend, the gross came by only 25% on its second weekend, getting a tenPercent increase in screens to 422. It is the first film being released inside the U.K. beneath the StudioCanal banner carrying out a company's rebranding Sept. 1. Optimum was founded in 2000, and agreed to French major StudioCanal in 2006. Contact the number newsroom at news@variety.com

David Fincher's Girl While Using Dragon Tattoo will receive a complete trailer

An entire-length trailer for David Fincher's The Woman While Using Dragon Tattoo has turned up online at MSN.Following a spiky, strobing teaser, this longer promo offers the uninitiated a better idea of what you should expect if this involves plot.Considering its more measured pace, a clip does a great job of submiting the strain while creating the main figures: Mikael Blomkvist (Difficulties) and Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara). All eyes are clearly apt to be on Mara, and using this footage it seems like she might be capable of hold her own inside the shadow of Noomi Rapace's superb performance inside the Swedish movies. And, given some dialogue here, she seems to vindicate Fincher's decision to shoot in Swedish-outlined British (despite the fact that it appears like Craig has tied to their personal British tones).A clip also does a great job of creating the supporting figures - Henrik Vangar (Christopher Plummer), Dragan Armansky (Goran Visnjic) and Nils Bjurman (Yorick van Wageningen) - and showcases the hypnotic thrum of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross' soundtrack.See the new trailer the next:&amplta href='http://video.uk.msn.com?vid=711ed3f0-7b20-9609-c37f-de9511616b9a&ampampmkt=en-gb&ampampsrc=FLPl:embed::uuids' _fcksavedurl='http://video.uk.msn.com?vid=711ed3f0-7b20-9609-c37f-de9511616b9a&ampampmkt=en-gb&ampampsrc=FLPl:embed::uuids' target='_new' title='The Girl While Using Dragon Tattoo - Exclusive Trailer' &ampgtVideo: The Woman While Using Dragon Tattoo - Exclusive Trailer&amplt/a&ampgtThe Girl While Using Dragon Tattoo opens on 26 December 2011, meaning there's greater than leftover chicken you may anticipate this boxing day!

226 Seconds of Bliss: Get Lost in the New, Extended Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Trailer

We’ve gone back and forth on the marketing for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, from parsing its initial, pseudo-bootlegged trailer to trawling its mysterious Tumblr to breaking down both NSFW and maybe too-SFW images to spending eight early minutes with David Fincher’s adaptation of the international bestseller. In a nutshell, it looks good! And today’s new, extended trailer looks even better. No one wants to be in the tank for a movie based solely on glorified commercials, but come on. These are great commercials! The story takes real shape (especially for newbies with no prior experience with the book or the original Swedish adaptation), the characters’ edges sharpen, and Fincher’s arresting images beg to be expanded and explained. It’s just sinister and cold and sexy and affecting from top to bottom — just the kind of remedy you want to mainline after spending time with, say, the J. Edgar trailer. (If you really feel like indulging, check out the high-definition version at Apple.) VERDICT: Yes, yes, a million times yes.
